vera wang trunk show/sample sale

Friday, Jenn and I tagged along with our bridal buyer, Hongyee, to Couture Bride for a Vera Wang event. Her gowns are absolutely magnificent up close! The detail is so exquisite that they are more like a piece of art than a piece of clothing. It's a shame that you can only (sanely) wear a wedding dress for a few mere hours out of your whole life (unless you're Elizabeth Taylor...).

Jenn and I had fun trying on the mini-veils but we were too superstitious to try on any dresses (bad luck).
This dress was one of my favorites (how any woman chooses just one, I do not know). It was so ethereal! The hand made belt, which makes the whole look, was actually not even part of the dress.

This is the actual dress Kate Hudson wore in Bride Wars

Hongyee's favorite

This was another favorite. The bodice is absolutely incredible and the skirt has hand-painted flowers on the top layer of tulle (optional).

Green!!! Of course, you can customize it, but how lovely is this unexpected color combination? Three different shades! I think it would be the perfect combination of traditional and cheeky in white with the green ribbon.

Don't tell Evan, but these dresses made me really excited for the day I get to shop for my own (in the very far and distant future)!
