This weekend's DIY project: the 80's dresser
Forgot to take a 'before photo' but it was chipped and missing most of it's handles... you get the idea.
Necessities:
-medium grit sandpaper
-wood filler
-latex gloves
-canvas drop cloth
-paint brushes
-paint
-power drill
-decorative knobs

The knobs I purchased (a long time ago) from Anthropologie were not the same size as the existing holes, so I began my project by filling one half of the existing holes with wood glue. I then sanded the entire dresser and applied two coats of satin finish black/brown paint. After the paint dried, I used my power drill to drill a new set of holes. Screwed in the knobs, and wala!
I prefer knobs, but the drawers are too heavy and not on glides, so handles were the way to go. It's not perfect, the handles aren't 100% straight, but all in all, it was a successful DIY Athropologie at any time to change up the look.
ps. caitlin do you love the card stuck in the mirror, bottom right?! it's very fitting.
